Who We Support

Teach Ruadh supports children, families, and communities navigating bereavement and loss.

Our work is centred around those most impacted, while also supporting the adults and environments around them.

Children & Young People

Children experience grief in different and often less visible ways.

We support children who are:

  • Experiencing the death of a parent, sibling, or close family member

  • Living with anticipatory grief (when someone is seriously ill)

  • Struggling to understand or express their feelings

Families

Families often carry the weight of supporting a grieving child while also managing their own loss. This can be exhausting.

We provide:

  • Guidance on how to support children through grief

  • Practical tools and resources

  • Reassurance around what is normal and expected

  • Retreats for families and parents to step away and give space to their grief

Our aim is to help families feel less alone in navigating bereavement.

Schools & Educators

Schools play a vital role in supporting children after loss—but teachers can often seek guidance on best practice and in doing so we hope that we can provide quick access to the most useable and up to date information for educators.

We support schools through:

  • Bereavement-informed resources

  • Guidance for teachers and staff

  • Approaches to supporting children in the classroom

This helps create environments where children feel understood and supported in everyday settings.

Community & Support Networks

Grief does not exist in isolation.

We work to support wider communities, including:

  • Youth groups and organisations who support bereaved children and families

  • Community services – especially CPR workshops for parents and childminders

  • Those working with bereaved children and families

By increasing understanding and awareness, we help create stronger support networks around children and families.
